Are the letters too small or too large? Hold down the CTRL key (lower left corner of the keyboard) and rotate your mouse wheel to increase or decrease the size. Your mouse has no wheel? You need to do it the hard way and change the size of the text using the View, Options and Tools of your browser.

Do you see the digital clock on the left margin and the rotating earth at the upper right?

This site uses multimedia techniques to display animation and play music and video in streaming mode. Unless your browser has multimedia capabilities installed and enabled, you may not be able to see all the material on every page. Multimedia techniques are ubiquitous, safe and advantageous to use.

To check if your browser is Java installed and enabled:

Visit: www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp and click on the button "Verify Installation" then follow the steps to install or update it if necessary. You should always try to update to the latest version as all current web sites use the most recent technologies to remain competitive.

How to Activate Java

Internet Explorer (Version 6 or later, depending on the version, what you see may differ from this guide but the general idea is the same.)

Internet Explorer allows you to enable Java either for all web sites or only for a selected number of "trusted sites".

  1. Go to the drop down menu for "Tools" and select "Internet Options"
  2. Click on the "Security" tab
  3. click on the green check mark labeled "Trusted Sites"
  4. click on the "Sites" button
  5. on the box "add this web site to the zone" type "www.rotary6990.org" (without the quotes)
  6. click the "add" button
  7. click "OK"
  8. Adjust the slider labeled "security level for this zone" to any setting except "High" (the default level is "Low")
  9. click the "Apply" button
 10. click "OK"

 
Firefox

To enable the Java language in the Firefox browser follow the following steps:

  1. Under the "Tools" menu select "Options"
  2. Click on "Web Features"
  3. Check the boxes labeled "Enable Java" and "Enable Javascript"

In Firefox you cannot enable Java only for selected sites, but you can limit the types of actions that Java is allowed to perform by clicking on the "Advanced" button to the right of the above boxes..
