Rotarians in the 48 clubs that comprise District 6990 have long supported The Rotary Foundation, both financially and through participation in the programs that make up much of the work of the Foundation.
Two particular programs that play in central role in any Rotary year in this district are Group Study Exchange and Educational Grants and Scholarships, more commonly referred to as Ambassadorial Scholars
Once an individual participates in a Foundation program such as GSE or the ambassadorial program that person becomes part of the Foundation Alumni. Hundreds of such alums exist in this district and an effort is underway to keep track of them through a secure database, part of this web site’s District and Club Database, or DaCdb.
Clubs make active use of the funds made available for matching grants via the District Simplified Grant program and many participate with partnering Rotary clubs around the globe in World Community Service Matching Grants.
To assure the funding for these and other programs Rotarians in this district give generously to the Annual Programs Fund. This year’s goal is to achieve a district total of $400,000 or approximately $168 per Rotarian.

There are over fifty Bequest Society Members in District 6990 and hundreds of Benefactors but more are needed to keep pace with the demands that are being placed upon the Foundation.
